Fosbery Studio is a contemporary decorative lighting brand based in Folkestone, Kent. Founded by designer Daniel Fosbery, the studio designs and makes beautiful lighting from quality natural materials, to be cherished for years to come.
With over 15 years’ experience working with decorative lighting, Daniel has been responsible for creating and delivering unique lights for the UK’s top interior designers. In 2010 he founded the lampshade manufacturer Copper & Silk, which he still runs from new premises in Folkestone. There he further developed his understanding of fabric and colour and armed with an in-depth knowledge of metalwork and lampshade manufacturing the studio has been using its expertise to design lighting for the countries top interior designers and architects producing exquisite bespoke lighting for projects such as Manolo Blahnik’s Harrods concession, The Saga Sapphire cruise ship, luxury restaurants, hotels, and multiple private residences in the UK and overseas.
The studio has been launched as a dedicated lighting company, specialising in the design and realisation of its discerning client’s ideas. Commissions are welcome and in most cases completed within 6 weeks. An exclusive range of lights designed in-house is available to purchase on the website. The lights are made from a range of materials including brass, wood, glass and hand-thrown ceramics. All parts are expertly crafted and made entirely in the UK.
"We believe in understated luxury, making designs with quality materials and embracing these natural features to make the design stand out. Designs have a stylish and paired back approach to their decoration. They are practical and bold in their individual appearance but are conceived from a shared palette of materials and finishes, that allow the eclectic mix of designs work together throughout the studio’s entire range. It is important that each design is identifiable as a unique piece. Daniel uses his education in furniture design and his love of the Dutch and British design movements of the early to mid 20th century to create harmonious designs with character."

"In 2021 we completed the design and manufacture of over 250 bespoke gathered and tailored lampshades for the Gleneagles renovation including their St Andrews’ Square townhouse. Other large-scale projects include the supply of bespoke lights made for the new San Carlo restaurant in London, where ten bespoke wall lights were designed from initial sketches and conversations with the client to a finalised design executed in-house using our brass manufacturing and soft gathered shades. At the time of writing, the studio is also in the process of supplying 50 lights to the newly developed Arthur Stanley House, London."
