About Us
"Honeycomb is me, Beth Chippindall, an experienced interior designer with more than fifteen years of industry experience working in a variety of environments including multi-discipline architecture firms and Top 10 interior design practices.
I created Honeycomb in order to provide clients with a dedicated and personalised service, becoming a trusted creative partner to everyone I work with.
I started in architectural practice, gaining experience in interior design, planning applications and architectural layouts, as well as getting a good understanding of planning, construction processes and limitations, and the importance of budget balancing. These key skills have been invaluable in my subsequent work with both private build projects and development work.
I believe our role as your designer is to hunt out beauty, sourcing stunning products, from small accessories through to large pieces of furniture, and find new and exciting objects and fabrics. We combine an uncompromising eye for quality and exquisite craftsmanship to create truly elegant end results.
The task of balancing beauty and budget is not always easy, but I believe this is viable for any project. In a society where we consume at an alarming rate, I am always keen to reupholster soft furnishing or reuse clients existing furniture... it is not always about new items.
My aim is always to create spaces where my client feels genuinely at home."
How would you describe your style?
"Honeycomb does not have a house or brand style, our job is to create the client’s dream, not ours. We are here to listen to the brief, note the budget and any building constraints and then create a scheme which encapsulates all these things into a jaw-dropping 'I love it' moment for our client!"
Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer
"We recently completed a stunning fit-out of a newly renovated house within the conversion of an old private school. The developer had left a lovely but very bland canvas and the client want to add their personalities and maximise the space's functions.
The client had one piece of art which was a clear favourite so we used this to create a colour scheme which would flow through the house. We mixed the hues and tones of that palette so there was variety but as you moved through the spaces it flowed. Honeycomb’s speciality is designing bespoke joinery, especially if it's complex! This house was fabulous from that aspect as everything room had some piece of lovely joinery, these ranged from a bespoke slatted wall detail with hidden sockets and big chunky floating shelves which wrapped around corners, to a pulldown bed in the compact guest bedroom to a real timber tambour detail on the bookcase in the study due to the client needing to be able to lock secure information away.
By mixing the joinery with luxurious soft furnishing and elegant window treatments and adding much-needed colour into the spaces we managed to create a real home. One where the client would live, work and play in an environment which are both calm and characterful."
