About Us

Etons of Bath is a specialist interior design practice which renovates and rejuvenates Georgian interiors and buildings of all shapes and sizes. Their projects, which are always driven by clients’ ambitions, include anything from hotels to houses and country estates to luxury apartments. The team has a wealth of experience in dealing with period and listed properties and is structured to achieve all the elements a project needs; from client brief to detailed designs, interior architecture, listed consent, construction, procurement, project management and final installation.

Etons of Bath's design team, led by founder Sarah Latham, is an experienced creative force that interprets the client brief with flair and inspiration, whilst the FF&E and project management team focuses on accuracy, technical ability, foresight and organisation to ensure every project runs smoothly. The combination of these teams and talents with a dedicated focus on Georgian and Regency homes is rare but essential in delivering projects whilst ensuring the process is enjoyable, efficient and inspiring.

How would you describe your style?

‘’The very first step in our process is to get to know the client, their property, their functional requirements, their quality aspirations and their style preferences. We also have to understand the property itself including its history, listed status and how the property can best be rejuvenated for modern living.

Through an in-depth meeting, property viewing and our Stylefinder process we are able to articulate the project brief in detail and summarise the clients desired style within the setting of their Georgian property. We have four broad style categories into which most people fall: 'Warm Classic'; 'Calm Classic'; 'Classic Contemporary', and 'On Trend'.

We do not have a ‘house style’. We understand the proportions, symmetry and opportunities of Georgian interiors; and then seek to enhance these together with adapting them to the particular client’s brief and lifestyle."

"We have undertaken the interior architecture, design and project management of a Georgian townhouse in Clifton, Bristol. The house had not been renovated in a generation, so we were involved for the outset.

We undertook all the changes to interior architecture (liaising with the planning and listed consent authorities throughout) as well as spatial planning with lighting and electrical design. We delivered fully detailed designs for living rooms, dining room, conservatory, bedrooms and bathrooms totalling more than 6500sq feet.

The clients’ aesthetic was classic contemporary; and the specification was high end, luxury and in keeping with the original historical grandeur of the building looking out over the Clifton suspension bridge. Our work involved the specification of all hard finishes, bespoke joinery, sanitaryware, electrical accessories, lighting, furniture and soft furnishings whilst liaising with a multitude of trades and artisans on site.

The result was the total restoration of a Grade I-listed Georgian building to its former glory but designed in keeping with modern living and the clients’ specific tastes and needs."
