"Natalie Johnson’s latest project exemplifies her talent for blending sympathetic restoration with contemporary design. The project involved the complete renovation of a Grade II listed private property that had become somewhat worn from years of being rented out. The new owners, seeking a serene holiday retreat, envisioned a peaceful country cottage style that harmonised with the property's historical charm while incorporating natural textures and calming tones.
The renovation process was meticulous, aiming to restore and enhance the property's original features while introducing a fresh, minimalist aesthetic. Natalie’s approach involved careful selection of natural materials to complement the home's period elements and evoke a sense of timeless elegance. Neutral tones formed the base palette, creating a soothing and versatile backdrop for the space. Minimal and delicate prints were strategically used to add character and depth, ensuring the design was both sophisticated and inviting.
Given the urgency of the project, with the new owners needing the property ready within just eight weeks before their return abroad, the challenge was significant. However, Natalie’s expertise and meticulous planning ensured that the full turnkey service was delivered on time and within budget. Every detail was attended to, from the restoration of original architectural features to the staging of contemporary fixtures and fittings, achieving a seamless blend of old and new.
Despite the tight deadline, Natalie and her team managed to complete the home to the highest standard, exceeding the client's expectations. The result is a beautifully restored Grade II listed property that offers a perfect retreat, combining classic country style with modern simplicity. The project stands as a testament to Natalie Johnson’s ability to deliver exceptional design outcomes, even under the most demanding circumstances, while preserving the integrity of a historic home."
