How would you describe your style?

"My philosophy is to create interiors and spaces that feel as though they have always been there, with a balance of colour, texture, pattern and natural fabrics. My style is very much determined and guided by my clients and their homes, with a focus on an elegant, timeless aesthetic, quality workmanship, thoughtful and sustainable interiors, inspired by the natural world. My principles are important, the quality of my workmanship, the quality of the materials I source, with an eye on the longevity and sustainability of each product."

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"I recently completed work on a wonderful coastal home, where the rooms had been completely reconfigured and redecorated, to modernise the property and to make the most of the coastal light and spaces. I was engaged to design the window dressings throughout the house, with an emphasis on unfussy yet elegant interiors, the use of pattern and texture, and mindful of the inherent old character of the house and its stunning location.

The project commenced in the snug as this was the most important family room and the focal point at the end of each day. I spent time looking at the light in each room and the way the family flowed through and used the spaces throughout the day, and a focused on pulling the old pieces of furniture into the new designs. With a colour palette in mind, we worked from room to room, following the flow of the downstairs rooms, while being mindful of not rushing the clients in their choice of final designs. The emphasis for this project was on taking our time for longevity, and ensuring that the designs for each room lasted the test of many years to come.

Once we had completed the downstairs rooms, we turned our attention to the bedrooms, again focusing on understated curtain poles, elegant curtains with hand-pleated headings and roman blinds to dress each room.

The final stage was the large window on a particularly elegant staircase, which remained the focal point from the entrance hall. The window was tall and elegant and cried out for beautifully made, statement piece, full-length curtains.

Using a palette of both muted and darker blues and a mix of subtle and bold patterns throughout the house, the final choice of fabrics were all natural linen to suit the style of each room, from designers such as Inchyra Textiles, Pippa Blacker, Molly Mahon and Zoe Glencross, complemented with bespoke hand painted curtain poles from Byron & Byron, and complimented with lighting, cushions and wool throws."
