About Us

Birdie Fortescue’s namesake interiors haven is the result of a journey that started in London in the late 1980s. After establishing the business in Norfolk in 2014, Birdie draws on her experience as an interior designer and antiques dealer to offer a personally curated and designed collection of globally inspired ethically-sourced homeware. From block-printed textiles to unusual table lamps Birdie’s discerning eye enables her to create unique designs that sit comfortably alongside the antiques and contemporary art sourced from artists both local and further afield.

This one-stop shop has two seasonal launches each year in addition to one-off collaborations and limited editions. These inspiring collections all embrace traditional methods and techniques – key ingredients for creating an eclectic and comfortable home designed with longevity in mind.

"In 2014 Birdie found an old warehouse in nearby Burnham Market which was much larger than she’d intended. With the extra space to fill Birdie decided to transform it into an interiors destination where antique furniture could sit alongside homeware and art. The shop soon had a loyal following and, with the business continuing to grow, we moved to its current premises in Fakenham in September 2018. This location brings the shop, design studio and warehouse together under one roof."
