About Us

In 2004 Richard set-up Richard Lansley Designs, a freelance design consultancy offering thoughtful and sympathetic solutions for any size project. Customer focused, the team understand both the beauty and design of a project, as well as the practicalities of time and budgets, and is experienced in overseeing work on and off site to ensure a high-end finish is achieved.

Richard has a passion to achieve the very best, both from himself and those he works with, with a keen eye for detail. He is also a strong problem solver and researcher who really understands the technicality of interior architecture, specialising in high end residential. Results driven, motivated and pro-active, he has a proven skill set in developing client ideas and projects from conception to completion.

Richard Lansley Designs has been involved in many projects including the full restoration of a Grade I-listed mews property with Robert Adam interiors in Mayfair; a late Georgian house in Cornwall; a Grade II-listed Georgian townhouse and mews in Chelsea, and a penthouse apartment in Dubai. Commercial projects include an Argentinian steak restaurant in Notting Hill and the presidential suites at the Anjum Hotel Makkah in Dubai.

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We were recently asked to produce designs for a country Georgian manor house which Richard had worked on ten years prior. The brief was to deliver new designs for the kitchen and give it an Instagrammable wow factor. We divided the large space into three distinct areas: one, a family kitchen with a traditional style cooks table and aga inspired by Lanhydrock House Kitchen; the second, an enormous bespoke joinery display unit for the clients’ extensive porcelain teacup and plate collection; and the third was given the feel of a conservatory which leads into the enclosed outdoor courtyard."
