Working closely with private clients, Architects and Interior Designers, the design teams in the Holland Park, London and Knutsford showrooms, have the creativity and expertise to translate their ideas into successful projects. When creating beautiful, practical and lasting solutions, a sound knowledge of, and respect for materials, proportions and functionality are key, along with fastidious attention to detail. A combination of hand sketches and CAD technology produces drawings and imagery for clients to gain a clear visual understanding of our proposals for their project.

"We recently completed a compact but incredibly functional family kitchen in London for a client with impeccable style. The client wanted a contemporary, fairly minimalistic backdrop to the kitchen, allowing for a stunning island to take centre stage. For the island we drew inspiration from a 1960s wooden slatted screen, creating shape and movement in the centre of the space. The focus was clean lines, precision detailing, perfect proportions and the use of beautiful wooden elements and natural marbles. Working closely with the client who had a very clear design vision we were all conscious of the challenges presented by the restricted space for the kitchen which is open plan to the dining room. The subtle blend of oak veneer for the tall and base cabinets and white lacquered wall cabinets with fluted fronts, is subtle, sophisticated and calming. The visual drama comes in with the sculptural curves on the rear of the stained walnut island along with the stunning Rossa Levanto marble on the rear wall backsplash. The island incorporates storage cabinets on one side and offers a recess for bar stools on the rear so is practical as well as beautiful.

The client says: 'The brief was to create a bar-like piece of furniture as a kitchen island that would take centre stage whilst blending in with the mid-century design of many of our furniture pieces. Hetherington Newman's highly motivated team has impressed us with their reliable and approachable work ethos, delivering workmanship quality of the highest standard even in Covid-19 restricted lockdown times. Their subtle advice and focused approach were immensely helpful during our sometimes, chaotic house renovations. We look forward to working with the team again!'"
