Our client had bought a Georgian end-of-terrace house in Islington. He moved from a rental property and had very few possessions, so we started from scratch. He bought the property with a damp problem, which meant we first had to remove and reinstall the fitted kitchen and kitchen floor. We converted a coat area/passageway into a study area, created a new utility room at the end of the kitchen and redecorated throughout. We were given quite an open brief, the basis of which was to make the house into a beautiful home for the owner and his girlfriend. Our design was formulated around a sage-green velvet Chesterfield and a Vivienne Westwood silk and wool rug from The Rug Company. Our client wanted a modern slant on a traditional look, and to enhance the building's many period features using a restful colour palette. We used a wide variety of London suppliers throughout and I particularly love the Nicole Farhi ceramics and Finnsdottir lamps.
