We renovated and reconfigured a Grade II listed Georgian fronted townhouse which incorporated a 17c barn. The property was both gutted and sandblasted, then after extensive research reclaimed cobbles, Georgian pine, reclaimed flagstones, period lighting and switches where reinstated. We created a freestanding reclaimed kitchen with a flooring of reclaimed terracotta roof tiles. The family bathroom was created with contemporary pieces from Hurlingham, a reclaimed French bow fronted basin, earthenware pan and a Georgian cistern from reclamation. A glass balcony was created with walk-on rooflights juxtaposed with period millpond flooring. Bold colours and fabrics synonymous with The Curious House where used throughout, mixing vintage Sanderson prints with more modern Josef Frank upholstery. Furniture is a mix of antiques, reclaimed pieces and ultra modern additions from Ligne Roset. The end result is a statement marriage of old and new.
