About Us

“Now beautiful art doesn’t just have to hang on your walls”

CLS cushions procure luxury designer and vintage silk scarves from all over the world and upcycle them into the most beautiful, high-quality cushion covers. We currently have designs by Ferragamo, Gucci, Pucci, Christian Dior, Vera Neumann and the iconic Liberty of London.  Perfect for adding a wow factor to the bedroom and living spaces, these carefully created cushions are as stylish and luxurious as the scarves they once were.

Caroline Standish is the owner, founder and creative buyer at Battersea-based CLS Cushions.  With many years of experience in property and interior design, her love for art started with her buying her first painting at 15 years old. As a kitchen and bathroom designer in her twenties and thirties, she became immersed in all things interiors and is a partner in a London property development company.

What services do you provide?

We make show-stopping cushions! We source rare and unique silk scarves and lux-cycle into the most beautiful cushions. Each design is one-of-a-kind and can be customised with a plethora of options from tassels and fringing to integrated nightwear storage pouches and even a jersey pouch for your ear plugs and eye mask.

How would you describe your style?

"We strongly believe that luxury and sustainability are not mutually exclusive - our core values are centred around both concepts - we strive to create statement pieces for homes that do not cost the earth.

Sustainability is more prominent today than ever - the integrity and belief systems of conscious consumers must become part of the interior design process – they desire items in their homes to be one-off pieces of art that have a story and a provenance that they can be proud to own."

"As a recently launched company, we are starting to attract great interest and a loyal customer base with sales around the world.

At this year’s Spirit of Summer Fair, we were delighted to receive the ultimate accolade from Noni Ware - Executive Editor of House and Gardens with the House and Garden award for ‘Most sustainable product’. Our cushions were described by Noni as ‘exquisitely made’ and the ‘cleverest and most luxurious upcycling idea she has seen for a long time’.

Our studio is based in the iconic, Grade II listed Battersea Power Station development and we welcome clients and interior designers to view both our assembled covers and our large selection of rare stock scarves ready to be made into your bespoke order. Our goal is to see interior designers building their design concepts around one of these beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces of art."
