How would you describe your style?

We are not bound by a particular ‘house style’. We interpret our clients’ wishes imaginatively and provide a home they will enjoy living in for years.

The brief was to renovate an early 20th century Arts & Crafts house, originally designed by the renowned Edwardian architect M.H. Baillie Scott. While our client was keen to improve the house, they were equally keen to respect its history and retain its magnificent character. We applied a mix of contemporary and traditional designs to the interior alterations and restored the exterior with respect to the original design. A substantial extension to provide an ‘entertainment space’ was added which blends seamlessly with the existing building. Careful planning was required to ensure the extension was subservient to the original house. The palette of materials was key to the success of this project – taking our lead from the existing property we incorporated an oak frame clad with bricks and tiles and key details such as door and window profiles and creasing tile air vents were reproduced. We invested a great deal of time in sourcing matching materials to successfully blend old and new. Inside the extension our artisan blacksmith created a stunning staircase balustrade inspired by cascading water.
