About Us

Having gained extensive experience in all areas of build, design and creative furnishing, Tor set up her own interior design and decorating business TOR Interiors in 2001. Listening to her clients and interpreting their needs, each project is tailormade resulting in a diverse portfolio which includes both classic and contemporary styles. However, one of the common threads that is clearly visible in her projects is the intelligent approach to spacial planning, ensuring the bones of the buildings work in harmony with the decorative schemes.

How would you describe your style?

My style is often described as eclectic – I enjoy using colour, pattern and personality when it comes to furnishing projects. Having spent many years learning about framing, beading and panelling at Westgate Fine Art, I always incorporate these crafts into my work. I find inspiration at art fairs and my surroundings and often use my client’s own collection of art and antiques as a jumping off point for my designs. Restoring antiques where necessary, I mix clients’ favourite pieces with more modern pieces, often using them in a contemporary room design with bespoke joinery to create a truly unique scheme.

Our projects include newbuild luxury flats, offices, ski chalets, London town houses and large country residencies. We are delighted to have many loyal clients that call on us time and time again. Often managing from the initial design process right through to hanging the last pair of curtains, we always adopt a positive and fun ‘anything is possible’ approach when taking on a project. In 2006 Tor Interiors won an award from the Ripon Civic Society for the restoration of a large Grade II listed town house in North Yorkshire. The award acknowledges the attention to detail and sympathetic craftsmanship of the restoration project.
