We recently completed our luxurious Georgian Hall kitchen, shown in our header image, a wonderfully rewarding project designing a kitchen to match the beauty of a truly stunning home. Our brief was to seamlessly integrate the history of the house into the design with a unique, contemporary twist. It was important to our clients that the kitchen, particularly the statement island, worked perfectly both for spending time as a family and for entertaining friends. We wanted the room to feel flawless and inviting as a kitchen, but not so comfortable as to overreach into the other family rooms of the house. Creating an inviting, bright space by maximising natural light and emphasizing colour was a high priority. Colours and textures throughout the kitchen worked together to create a truly harmonious finish. The combination of rich American Black Walnut, eye-catching book-matched marble and polished nickel accents perfectly complemented the painted shaker cabinets. The end-grain walnut was also not only beautiful, but eminently practical for food preparation. The fabulous wide-plank limed oak flooring enriches the overall earthiness of the project. The granular detail across the room which allows all the eclectic elements in the kitchen to flow together is one of the main reasons our clients were so happy with their final design.
