About Us

Abigail Edwards launched her first wallpaper collection in 2011. Her hand-drawn designs are inspired by nature and fairy tales and have expanded to include fabric, rugs and accessories as well as the award-winning wallpapers that have featured in numerous magazines and grace the walls of homes and commercial spaces around the world.

All of Abigail Edwards' products are made in the UK where possible and are environmentally responsible. Her wallpapers and non-woven substrates are sourced from sustainably managed forests and are printed at one of the few remaining, traditional, wallpaper printers in England, using non-toxic water-based inks.

How would you describe your style?

"My hand-drawn patterns have a quiet, unobtrusive aesthetic with a gentle strength. The designs bring to mind Scandinavian simplicity but melded with the intricacies and darkness of Victoria illustrations. The subtle colourways are inspired by nature resulting in wallpapers that support rather than overshadow a space whilst adding character and depth.

In this time of maximum connection and communication, life can be overwhelming and it can seem like pattern will add to the effect of noise and overload on our lives. But when chosen carefully pattern can be as functional as it is decorative. My aim is for my designs to contribute to an environment that will enhance wellbeing and enable relaxation. I look to the soothing colours of nature or to imaginary worlds to take us away from the strife of modern life.

Harmonious shapes, proportions and colour palettes can bring solace to a restless mind. Calm, quiet patterns can trigger thoughts and inspiration, allowing one's mind to wander without visually imposing noise that may intrude on thought processes or mood."

"We celebrated 10 years of Seascape last year- a simple hand drawing of ink lines creating a tempestuous sea to flow around the room, and have just launched three new colour ways. The new Seascape colours are produced on a brand new Eco non-woven ‘paste the wall’ wallpaper base, which is one of the first in the UK to launch on this substrate. Unlike other non-woven wallpapers, the Eco grade non-woven is made from 99% renewable raw materials."
