About Us

Camilla Hampton Interiors is an interior design studio with its own fledging furniture and interior accessories line, designed by Camilla and handmade in the UK. The studio also has its own seamstresses producing curtains and soft furnishings in-house. The studio was established in London in 2012 and worked on high-end residential interiors across the capital. With Camilla now resident in Wiltshire, the practice manages a range of projects from period Country Houses to modern contemporary apartments in London.

The studio undertakes room by room or whole house decoration refurbishments as well as architectural and building renovations both large and small. Her style strikes the balance between dramatic and harmonious, and her chic contemporary but classic designs are particularly well known for incorporating treasured antiques into contemporary schemes; mixing old and new.

At the core of the practice's ethos is the environment, favouring refurbishing existing pieces or even kitchens wherever possible and sourcing products with a low carbon footprint as well as using environmentally friendly paints such as Edward Bulmer.

To quote Camilla, "I believe beautiful design is achieved through a highly collaborative relationship with my clients, big, beautiful ideas and a lot of trust. It is an incredibly special journey for us both and a huge honour to be a part of it."

Camilla and her team have a passion for designing bespoke furniture and redesigning and refurbishing existing antiques.  She works alongside talented furniture makers, upholsterers, lighting designers and decorative painters to achieve the ultimate designs.

A recent client is quoted as saying, "Camilla and her team have completely re-imagined our home and ultimately enhanced our way of living, the extent to which we had never imagined possible. She has created our dream home."

How would you describe your style?

"Our style is eclectic, mixing old with new; we love colour, wallpaper and architectural features and there is always a thread of coordinated, restrained but grand, English contemporary chic to our designs."

"Our most recent project was a stunning location, a large 6 bedroom, lakeside, externally wood clad house at the Lakes by Yoo in Gloucestershire.

The brief from my Swedish born client was to completely refurbish the entire property decoratively and to re-design parts of the layout improving flow and privacy. The property was to be meditative and rustic, while also being glamorous. The client also wanted to only use the colours found within trees. My inspiration which lived on my desk for two years was a lichen-covered branch!

Managing a large team of builders and the architect the re-design started with the largest space in the property; the entrance hall and vast open plan sitting room, dining room and kitchen.

We used recycled wood to clad the walls throughout this space to create a warm and incredibly peaceful atmosphere which we echoed throughout the bedrooms and bathrooms. The bespoke smart lighting design and chandeliers helped to demarcate the spaces within the open plan and allow the clients to further control their atmosphere from one space to the next.

Being respectful wherever possible to the environment (and the budget) we re-worked the existing kitchen core, re-laminating the doors to give them texture. We used Lime paint with a ragging technique to the walls throughout the halls landing and downstairs to create a chalky warm Ibiza vibe and added a beautiful bespoke stair runner by Sophie Cooney to the stairs.

Much of the furniture and lighting pieces were designed by Camilla and created with the help of specialist furniture makers.

They include a beautiful, hand made, antique brass inlaid and concrete laminated coffee table to hide the client's puzzle inside. We sourced and restored Swedish antique ‘Banana sofas’ and bedroom armchairs, giving them a contemporary re-design to last another generation. We commissioned the bespoke design of all the chandeliers and most side tables and designed and had made all the bedroom headboards and of course, the rugs which were all commissioned personally for the client.

The bedrooms echoed downstairs with reclaimed Clad walls, the hygge balanced with chic Blithfield wallpapers and Antoinette Poisson and Christopher Farr fabrics. Every detail from blankets at the end of beds through to bedside lights was considered but designed to feel un-staged."
