"We recently completed a Bauhaus-inspired residential project. Our clients wanted to inject a new lease of life into their multi-functional front room, which they use to relax and enjoy elements of their extensive art collection. It was clear they loved the Bauhaus movement and we wanted to create a space that complimented the era. We designed a freestanding bookshelf with curved edges and asymmetrical divisions, specific to the dimensions of their books, that implied a piece of art in itself rather than just a functional piece of furniture. We also incorporated LED lighting in key areas for display purposes. On the opposite elevation, we designed two built-in units either side of the fireplace, emphasizing the height of the room, and we covered the back panels with metallic wallpaper in a neutral stone hue to encourage more light in to the area. All joinery was hand-painted in ‘Serpentine’ by Zoffany, a beautiful rich teal that looks green or blue depending on the light; this complimented the green sofa and blue-accented chair. We also added a concrete-effect paint from Craig and Rose as a beautiful backdrop to their artwork, which gave an amazing texture to the room. This was an open-plan room to the kitchen, so the other paint colour we chose was ‘Oval Room Blue’ by Farrow and Ball, which tied the scheme together. Services we offer include spatial planning, floor plans and elevations, sample boards, bespoke joinery design, digital renders, colour schemes, window dressings, and project management. From a single room revamp to a full property or multi-unit renovation, our little black book of contacts allows us to cater to a variety of styles and a range of budgets."
