About Us

Balzar London is a leading interior design studio delivering bespoke solutions. Our team at Balzar believe each project and client are unique. Accordingly, we provide a non-formulaic approach; working closely with our clients from the initial consultation to deliver a result that perfectly embodies both their desired aesthetic and lifestyle. We operate alongside renowned collaborators, interior specialists, master craftsmen and leading galleries ensuring each project is delivered to the highest standards. Headed by Creative Director, Charles Clarke, our team draws inspiration from icons including Jean-Michel Frank and Andrée Putman, who understood that timeless design had to be both elegant and usable.

Alongside our bespoke work, Charles is passionate about sourcing rare, characterful antiques and object in order to uniquely and authentically meet the particular brief of each client. Over the years he has curated an extensive network of both domestic and international dealers and gallerists. Charles graduated from the Inchbald School of Design with a Post Graduate Diploma in Architectural Interior Design and received the Principle’s Award for his final exhibition. Prior to establishing Balzar London, he worked for several notable designers including Lambart & Browne, Banda Property and Hubert Zandberg.

Please describe a recently completed project or tell us about the bespoke service that you offer

"We recently delivered a 4,800 sq ft home in Notting Hill for an international client. The brief required a substantial structural redesign, including the creation of a new sub-basement floor. We developed a fully comprehensive design including in-built joinery and soft furnishings along with bespoke furniture, sourced pieces, objet and artworks. To meet our client’s expectations, we developed a design that enhanced the more traditional elements of the property’s existing architecture, whilst offering a fresh, contemporary approach for the newly created spaces.

Our Studio is currently working on a Kensington Townhouse for a client requiring a highly bespoke scheme based on their existing art collection. In addition to this, we are delivering a complete structural refurbishment of a property in Holland Park."
